Connecting to Polymarket
RungBot signs your orders locally, so it needs one thing: the signer key of your Polymarket account. Everything else — your deposit wallet, your balance — it works out for itself.
Before you start: your private key is the key to your money. Only ever paste it into applications you trust, and never share it with anyone — including anyone claiming to be RungBot support. We will never ask for it.
1. Export your signer key
If you signed up to Polymarket with an email or Google account, your key lives with Magic. Open reveal.magic.link/polymarket, sign in with the same email or Google account, and reveal the key. Copy it to the clipboard.
If you use a browser wallet with Polymarket, export the private key of that wallet instead, from the wallet itself.
2. Paste it into the connect window
Start RungBot and paste the key into the Signer private key field. It is masked as you type; use the eye button if you want to check it. Press Enter private key.
There is no wallet field to fill in: RungBot computes your Polymarket deposit wallet from the key itself, the same way the exchange does.
3. Check the wallet and connect
The window replaces the key field with your account: the deposit wallet address and its available pUSD balance. If the address is the one you know from Polymarket and the balance matches, press Connect. If it is not, press Use a different wallet and check the key you exported.
An empty balance means the wallet holds no pUSD — deposit on Polymarket first, then reconnect.
4. Remembering the key
Tick Remember this key on this device and the key is stored encrypted by Windows under your user account — never in a plain file, never on our servers. Next time the window opens with your wallet and a single Use it button.
Forget removes it from the machine. Do that on any computer you share.
Staying up to date
The connect window shows whether your build is current. When a new version is available the line under the version number turns red — click it to download and install. Updates are signed and verified by checksum before they run.
Trouble connecting
- "That does not look like a private key" — the key must be 64 hex characters, with or without a leading
0x. An address (42 characters) is not a key. - "Connection refused" — the exchange rejected the key or could not be reached. Check your internet connection and that the key belongs to a Polymarket account.
- The wallet is not the one you expect — you probably exported a different account from Magic. Sign in there with the email you use on Polymarket.
